Waterloo Region’s Rental Vacancy Rates Lower in 2011

• The average vacancy rate in Waterloo Region and area (Kitchener CMA) moved lower to 1.7 per cent.
Canadian Housing Activity to Rebound in Second Half of 2009
According to this recent article provided by the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) the outlook for the national housing market in Canada is looking up.
OTTAWA, September 3, 2009 - Housing starts are expected to rebound in the second half of 2009 and will reach 141,900 for the year. Starts will increase to 150,300 for 2010, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) third quarter Housing Market Outlook, Canada Edition* report. The overall forecast totals for housing starts remain unchanged from the second quarter release.
The Kitchener Waterloo Housing Market
A May 20 article in the Kitchener-Waterloo's local newspaper (The Waterloo Region Record) mentions that the demand for new and resale homes in Waterloo Region is expected to fall in 2009 and should see a rebound in 2010.
